Help and questions

New to pdtools?

Everything you need to get started, and answers to the questions Keepers ask most.

How to open pdtools, in about half a minute

Start in three steps

  1. Open pdtools.xyz in your phone browser. There is nothing to download, no login and no wallet.
  2. Tap Open Blinky's Friends and open posts from fellow Keepers. Say hi on X in your own words.
  3. Finish your daily goal to hatch a dragon, then come back tomorrow to grow your streak.

Keep your progress in one place

Your opened posts, streak and dragons are saved in the browser you use, on that device. There is no account, so a different browser starts fresh.

The X app opens links in its own browser, and that one keeps its own progress. To bring everything together:

  1. Inside the X app, open pdtools and tap Make my move code at the top of the feed. Copy the code.
  2. Open pdtools.xyz in your phone browser, tap Progress, enter the code and tap Restore.
  3. From then on, open pdtools in your phone browser. Inside X, use the menu and choose Open in browser.

Nothing is lost when this happens. Every post you open still counts as support for the person who posted it.

Still stuck?

Send a note through the mailbox in the corner, or say hello on Discord or X. Every message is read.

How is pdtools working for you?

pdtools is new. A quick rating helps Jon fix what matters most.

Questions safety and how it works

Is pdtools safe to use?

Yes. There is no login and no wallet connect. The site never asks for your X password, cannot see your X account, and cannot post, like, follow or reply for you. It only shows public posts and links you to them on X. Anything you do after that, you do yourself on X, exactly like scrolling your normal feed.

Can using it get my X account flagged as spam?

The site itself never touches your account, so opening posts here is no different from opening them anywhere else. What X watches is behaviour: lots of identical replies, copy pasted text, or tagging the same accounts again and again in a short time. Keep it human and you are fine:

  • Write your own replies and change them up. The Say hi button only fills in a starting line, so edit it before you send.
  • Pace yourself. A handful of real replies beats fifty quick ones.
  • Only tag people when it adds something. You do not need to tag the team on every reply.
  • Like, reply or quote, whatever fits. Nobody here tracks or rewards how many you do.
What does the site know about me?

Nothing personal. The posts you have opened are remembered only in your own browser. The open counts you see are anonymous totals, with no names attached. To count visitors, your browser keeps a random number that is not linked to your name, X account or address. Suggestions sent through the mailbox are private to the site owner and the form does not collect emails.

If you sign Blinky's Book of Friends and then save or share your dragon book, its picture and counts are kept on your own page at pdtools.xyz/k/yourname. Ask Jon and it is removed together with your name.

Where are my dragons and streak saved?

In the browser you use, on that device. There is no account, so a different browser or phone starts fresh, and so does a private tab or clearing your browsing data. To move them, use the code under Progress.

My dragons look different inside the X app

The X app opens links in its own browser, which keeps its own progress. Inside X, tap Make my move code at the top of the feed, then open pdtools.xyz in your phone browser, tap Progress and enter the code. The dragons from both are kept, and so is your longer streak.

How do I move to a new phone or computer?

Tap Progress, then Save my progress. You get a short code that works for 30 days. On the other device, open Progress, enter the code and tap Restore. Your opened posts, dragons and streak come with you.

Where do the posts come from?

Keepers share their X posts in the community Discord share channel, and every post shared there shows up here, blue tick or not. The team's own posts come straight from X, so the newest ones are always pinned at the top.

Is this an official Pocket Dragons site?

No. pdtools is an unofficial fan made tool built by Jon Wynn for the Keeper community. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pocket Dragons, and every post links back to X.

How do I get into the Keepers directory?

Have a blue tick and the 🐉 in your X display name, then use the Add me form on the Keepers page.

I have an idea or found a bug

Tap the mailbox in the corner. Every suggestion goes straight to Jon and is read.

What is Blinky's Book of Friends?

A guest book for Keepers who support each other. You sign with your X name and prove it is yours with one post. After that, the posts you open on Blinky's Friends count toward your tier: Bronze, Silver or Gold for supporting many different Keepers each week. Signed Keepers whose posts you open can see your name in their "Who supported you" list. Nothing is ever posted for you, and you can ask Jon to remove your name at any time.
